THE
COPPELIA PROJECT
HE COPPELIA PROJECT: A CLOWN BALLET is very engaging piece of physical theatre that is part dance, part mime and 100 % comedy. Dr. Coppelius speaks with his violin when he needs to communicate. He is also a perfectionist who dreams of making 'the perfect ballerina'. But each of his beautiful clown ballerinas turns out to be 'not quite right.' All the while, a young Delivery Boy is constantly under foot interfering with the good doctor's work. Eventually the eccentric Dr. learns a much needed lesson about the pursuit of perfection. The play touches on issues of inclusion and accessibility and its style has a beautiful balance of slapstick and bittersweet comedy. |

THE
MANY ADVENTURES
OF SNOW WHITE
This hysterical re-telling of the classic children's
story features a company of eight actors in a mini-musical for young audiences
that adults will enjoy as much as the children as the humor reads on several
levels. It is a musical version of the classic tale with a few surprises thrown
in and plenty of audience participation, colorful sets and costumes, and tongue-in-cheek
good humor. Poor Snow is a slightly ditzy airhead who is not quite aware of everything
going on around her. Still, she does manage to muddle through and everyone lives
happily ever after. Special workshops are also offered in addition to the two
performances in one day. |

ONE
NIGHT IN FROGTOWN
This delightful production is a multimedia musical performance based on Emmy
Award winning Author/Composer Philip Pelletier's musical storybook of the same
name, One Night In Frogtown. This acclaimed story about diversity comes alive
through projected animations, a live story reading, and live music performances
featuring the Portland All-Stars: Linda Hornbuckle, Devin Phillips, Shannon Dan,
Andy Stokes, Fogatron, Heather Christie, Portland Opera soloist, Victor Morris,
and the No Kidding! Choir. "FROGTOWN is a great story, and the presentation
with rhyme, music and animation really hits the bulls-eye on what it takes to
reach kids today. I highly recommend it!" (Merrill Holde, Elementary School
Teacher & Reading specialist). "Kids will LOVE the music from rap to
symphony!" (Parenting Magazine). |

ANIMAL TALES
Theater that enchants, challenges & inspires;
that makes us laugh, cry & acknowledge who we are. This is an excellent
description of an exciting new family opera now available through Main
Stage Artists. George Plimpton's "Animal Tales" is a terrific
family opera-musical that will fit beautifully in any performing arts
series. It uses a local amateur or semi-professional children's chorus,
which engages the community in the performance of the work. There will
also be a 35-40 minute additional stand alone mini opera-musical for
school touring, with minimal rehearsal for young audiences that will
be ready by summer 2010. |

AN EVENING WITH MARK TWAIN
New York actor Michael Mauldin, as Mark Twain in his customary white suit and ever-present cigar, takes us through a fascinating panoply of uproarious comedy, gentle reminiscence, and biting social satire on the human condition–which is amazingly relevant to today's world. Mr. Mauldin delivers a powerfully humorous and unforgettable performance–a richly rewarding experience for the Twain aficionado and novice alike. |
