Curtis
Salgado - Narrator / Vocals
Curtis´ singing ability was recognized at an early age,
when he came home from kindergarten one day with a note from
his teacher pinned to his shirt saying that he could sing. He
fronted the respected Roomful Of Blues, inspired John Belushi
to create the Blues Brothers, fronted the Robert Cray Band, and
kicked off his own recording career in 1991. He´s appeared
on NPR´s Mountain Stage, been the highlight of major festivals.
Curtis´ latest CD, Soul Activated, was garnered a WC Handy
Blues Award nomination. |

Devin
Phillips - Tenor & Soprano Sax
Born and reared in New Orleans, the cradle of jazz, and an evacuee
from Hurricane Katrina relocated in Portland, Oregon, Devin Phillips´ intense
affair with the saxophone began at the age of eight. Phillips
has performed, toured and recorded with top jazz artists, such
as Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Palmieri, The Headhunters, the New
Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Lenny Kravitz, and Los Hombres Caliente
(with whom he recorded two award-winning albums). He has performed
at France´s Jazz de Vien Festival, Tokyo´s JVC Jazz
Festival, Barcelona Jazz Festival; the Netherlands´ North
Sea Jazz and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. |

Linda
Hornbuckle - Vocals
Linda Hornbuckle started singing at the age of six in the Grace & Truth
Pentecostal Church, Portland, Oregon, a church her father, Bishop
H. Hornbuckle pastored. Linda has toured and/or recorded with
national recording artists; "Quarterflash", "Nu-Shooz", "Dan
Reed", and "Gino Vanelli". She later became lead
vocalist for the high profile Motown Revue Band, "Body & Soul" and
in 1992 became the driving force for the Blues act "Linda
Hornbuckle & the No DeLay Band". Today Linda leads her
own band and continues her own voyage into stardom as a solo
act called Linda Hornbuckle. |

Andy
Stokes - Vocals
If you look into the Soul of Portland, you will find Andy Stokes...He
has recorded with A & M Records, Warner Brothers Records,
toured Japan, enjoyed a solo career. His recording of the song
Test of Time made the Top 10 on the Billboard charts. Andy has
performed with Curtis Salgado, Linda Hornbuckle, and Nu Shooz
locally, along with Michael Bolton, George Clinton, Connie Stevens,
Temptations, Stylistics and many others. Additionally, he was
voice for one of the famous California Raisin characters, developed
at Will Vinton Studios. Andy continues to perform his unique
soulful music throughout the Northwest. |

Shannon
Day - Vocals
Shannon began acting and singing on stage at the age of three.
Being the daughter of an operatic soprano, she naturally stepped
up to the lights. She has starred in many art-house films, tv
series and movies, as well as a series regular on ABC´s "Land
of The Lost". As an accomplished musician and composer,
Shannon has been playing the piano since the age of five, and
began writing her own songs when she was in her early teens.
She was awarded her first gold record at the age of seventeen,
for her harmony vocals on the Atlantic Records release, "Poolside" by
the Grammy nominated band, "Nu Shooz". |

Victor
Morris - Vocals
Victor Morris has been a narrator/soloist with the Oregon Symphony
and Third Angle Music Ensemble and Euphonium/Tenor soloist for
Tuba Christmas concerts under the direction of Maestro John Richards.
With guidance from the late maestros Anton Guadagno, tenor Franco
Corelli, and basso contante George Peckham together with the
influence of Ms. Grace Bumbry, Ms. Ellen Faull, and present mentor,
Maestro George Shirley, Victor´s prepared roles include
Otello, Dick Johnson (La fanciulla del West), and Henry Davis
(Street Scene with Portland Opera). He is presently preparing
the role of Siegmund (Die Walkure). Victor is a recipient of
the Accomplished Musician´s Award in the IBLA Grand Prize
Vocal Competition in Ragusa-Ibla, Italy. |

Heather
Christie - Vocals
Heather was born into a family of musicians in the Pacific Northwest.
Early on she began singing and playing in bluegrass jams, country & folk
tunes, gospel singalongs, radio theater and talent shows. Heather
started writing music in her early teens and began singing professionally
shortly after. She´s performed throughout the West Coast
in Performing Arts Centers, Theaters, Colleges, Festivals and
other music venues. A Lilith Fair finalist, Heather has shared
the stage with many top artists, such as Fred Eaglesmith, Tracy
Grammer, Harry Manx and Brian Webb. Heather has independantly
recorded & released three albums which air on radio stations
up and down the coast, and is getting ready to begin her next. |

Michkael
Baker - Vocals
Seattle native Michkael Baker has lived his entire life in the
Pacific Northwest. He has performed with vocalist Tarshene in
the popular Northwest band Body and Soul and as an actor in "Chorus
Line," "Godspell," and other stage productions.
His voice can be heard in numerous commercials for Nike, Hewlett-Packard,
and others. An accomplished dancer, Michkael is currently tearing
up Northwest stages with knock out singing and great dance routines. |

Tarshene
Daugherty-Vocals
Hailing from Vancouver, WA, this young lady has been singing
professionally since her highschool days. One of her first gigs
was with the popular Portland R&B band Body and Soul. She
can sing styles ranging from Billie Holiday standards to knock-your-socks-off
R&B and Disco. |

Thara
Memory
Thara began playing the trumpet at 11 years old, and has performed
with many jazz and r&b legends including Eddie Harris, Arturo
Sandoval, Charlie Rouse, Dizzy Gillespie, Chuck Israel, Lou Rawls,
Benny Maupin, Eddie Henderson, Natalie Cole, Fred Wesley and
the Master Sounds, The Four Tops, Pleasure, The Leroy Vinegar
Quartet, The Depriest Project, Ravi Best, Urban Agnas, Brian
Lynch, Scotty Barnhart, Javon Jackson, John Handy, Dennis Springer,
Bernard Purdy, Ben Wolfe, Obo Addy, George Shaw, and many others.
Currently, he leads his own outstanding jazz band, the Thara
Memory Superband, and performs regularly with the Mel Brown Septet. |

Fogatron
Or should we call him "Frogatron"? No doubt many will
after hearing his vocal wizardry on ´The Down Low".
Human synthesizer, sound mimic, beatbox mastermind Fogatron has
been performing in his hometown of Portland since 2001. He has
wowed crowds as far away as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Tokyo, London,
Munich, Belgium, and Thailand. Winner of the Portland Mercury
Pizzaz competition in 2004, Fog has been highlighted in The Oregonian,
The Portland Mercury, Willamette Week, Seattle Stranger, KUFO,
KBOO, and FOX 12´s Good Day Oregon. |

Chuck
Baliconis
Chuck Baliconis is a VIP in The Down Low, having contributed
animated frog vocals to that track, along with Fogatron. Chuck
has many years of musical experience as a vocalist, keyboard
player, and musical director. He has performed throughout the
US, Canada, and recently throughout the UK with Larry Branson.
In addition to his excellent keyboard abilities, Chuck also plays
acoustic and electric guitar and percussion. Together these musical
talents serve as a vivid backdrop to Chuck´s versatile
and powerful vocals and animated visual performances as the popular
live act known as AVALON. |
