Glen
Road
Imagine yourself in Ireland at the end
of the day. The weather is rough and everyone is inside
in the kitchen while rain beats on the windows. The fire
gets stoked with peat, the kettle boils and mugs of hot sweet
tea are passed around. Someone takes a fiddle off the
wall and launches a reel, joined soon by a flute and guitar. The
floor is cleared for a set dance. Sparks fly from the
flagstones, songs are sung, jokes and stories drift through
the air and you are lost in the moment. Welcome to Glen
Road in concert; bring your dancing shoes.
These musicians have abandoned
more lucrative careers to play traditional music. The commitment
to the craft is evident in their passionate performances, the

Road arrive with wry, good humor, a relaxed stage presence and
earnest love for the tradition they represent. They impart
warm memories and the rewards of an evening in good company. Enjoy
the music!

Connie
Dover
Acclaimed by the Boston Globe as "the
finest folk ballad singer America has produced since Joan Baez," Connie
Dover is an accomplished interpreter of the traditional music of
Great Britain and Ireland. Her soaring, crystal clear voice and
inspired arrangements display a depth and breadth of range that
have earned her a rightful place among the world's finest Celtic
singers.
“Just occasionally a
voice arrives on the folk scene that is so pure, so beautiful,
so magical, that it tells you: this is how to sing a song.
Such a voice has Connie Dover”
-Alastair Clark, The Scotsman (Scotland’s national newspaper)
